Dog age in human years

No “times seven” myth — a conversion from epigenetic clocks, published on real dogs.

Fill in the fields above and the result appears on its own.

How it is calculated

Wang et al. (2020) compared DNA methylation in dogs and humans across age and derived 16 × ln(age in years) + 31. The curve rises fast in the first year (which is why it is unreliable under one year, and this tool refuses to answer there instead) and slows down in later years — exactly what “times seven” never captures.

Where this comes from

This is an estimate from publicly published rules, not veterinary advice. A sick, nursing or pregnant animal is a vet's decision.
